A court in Gaza, controlled by Hamas, has imposed to a Palestinian newspaper to cease distribution of its copies. The newspaper in question is called Al Ayyam and is' considered close to Al Fatah, Hamas's rival political movement. The penalty and 'apparently a reaction to the publication of a satirical cartoon against the deposed prime minister of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, which appeared in the newspaper last November.
